Literature Text

I'm losing my childishness
Fast as the sun takes her nightly cover

Freckles flaking
To leave behind
A face poised
To crack and
scatter
A drop of water
on a skillet
In a house
Of breakfast smells
and sleepy smiles.

Unscraped knees
That ache
when the rain falls

And it was
A mistake.

You never really grow up, you will still giggle when someone says "69".  Adults are just kids that are better playing hide 'n' seek. At least that what I'll tell my children :)
